The person first
We see the person's abilities and goals before the diagnosis or the challenge.
We believe the best care plan begins by listening to the person and the family, then turning careful assessment into goals that are understandable and measurable.
Care begins by listening

Al Hawas Centre was founded to deliver specialist care in autism, speech and language, early intervention and learning difficulties in an environment where families feel clear and involved.
The centre is led by speech and language rehabilitation specialist Romel Al Khatib, who holds a Master’s in Speech and Language and a PhD in Early Intervention, with more than 15 years of experience. Our way of working combines clinical standards, practical experience and continuous family coaching.
We do not apply one plan to everyone. Every case has its own assessment, priorities and context, so goals are written in practical language and progress is reviewed regularly.
A child’s needs may touch more than one area. Direct assessment helps identify the starting point, then the plan is built around the skills that make a difference in daily life.
We see the person's abilities and goals before the diagnosis or the challenge.
We explain what we measure and why, and what the next step is at each stage.
We turn the session into skills that can be supported in everyday life.
We review outcomes and adjust goals according to data and need.
Sessions do not begin before there is a clear picture of the child’s current skills and real needs. The assessment tool is chosen for their age and the reason for assessment, and the specialist explains the findings to the family in plain language.
We start with what the family notices and wants to change, not with a fixed checklist.
A qualified specialist selects the tool that fits the child’s age and the assessment question.
Goals are written so a family can see and measure them in everyday situations.
Progress is reviewed and the plan adjusted to the child’s response, not to a fixed timetable.
The assessment tool is chosen according to the child’s age, needs and the reason for assessment, and each specialist uses the tools that match their scope and qualifications.
We connect assessment to intervention and follow-up, and collaborate with schools and medical teams when the case requires it.

What happens inside a session matters, but what repeats at home and school is what turns practice into a skill. That is why families are part of the plan from the start.
Families are part of the planSpaces are set up for the kind of work they hold: quiet individual sessions, a small group for the day programme, a sensory-ready space, and a meeting room where families sit with the team.

The centre operates in line with health licensing requirements in the UAE, protecting client privacy and safe practice, and coordinating with medical teams when needed.
